BC Kanagawa manager Tsuyoshi Kawamura celebrates first win on his birthday: "It's an unforgettable day"

The Kanagawa Future Dreams of the Route Inn BC League achieved their first win of the season with a 6-2 victory against the Ibaraki Astro Planets (Kamifuchu Park Odawara Stadium) on April 30th.

Kanagawa got off to a tough start this season, led by new manager Takeshi Kawamura, with their pitching staff being under pressure and suffering six consecutive losses, including one tie.

Coach Kawamura, who earned his first victory as a manager in the game held on his 50th birthday, said, ``Thank you, the fans, for making us wait so long.I myself didn't expect it to take this long.'' It was my 50th birthday and it was an unforgettable day," he said with joy.

-How did you feel about the 2022 season?

Kawamura:In 2020, the team's first year, we won the championship, and we went into the tournament with the desire to "achieve that feat again," but we started off with a losing streak. However, I promised the players that we would win consecutive games from here on out.
 

--What are the PR points for Kanagawa Future Dreams?

Kawamura:There are many players who are energetic even after losing. I think he will hit a lot more in the next game and keep it down.
