井上尚弥選手のプロデビュー戦は、2012年10月2日、当時のフィリピン王者クリソン・オマヤオとの試合であった。上体を揺らしながら接近して打ち込むオマヤオに対して、井上選手は待ち構え、試合開始早々ダウンを奪う。その後、相手は前に突進し強引にパンチを出し続けるが、井上選手の左フックがボディに入ると相手は悶絶し試合終了。
