JATO (Japan Athletic Trainers Organization), organized by this event, is a professional association of athletic trainers. A talk show was planned to celebrate its 20th anniversary, Mr. Kousuke Kitajima (= Coca-Cola / President Better Japan representative) and Mr. Kaoru Ina (= ALSOK) were invited and the first two-shot was realized this time.

In the talk show, there were many unknown episodes that were also showcased in a warm atmosphere.

As you know, Mr. Kitajima was a national player representing Japan who won a gold medal at the Athens Olympics and the Beijing Olympic Games with a 100-meter breaststroke and a 200-meter breaststroke, but after retirement from the factory, he will sell state-of-the-art training supplies and conduct seminar projects As representative of Japan corporation of Perform Better Co., Ltd., he is also active in the management of the swimming club "KITAJIMAQUATICS" instructed by his own original program, representative of IMPRINT who performs management and branding, and director of Tokyo Metropolitan Swimming Association.

Meanwhile, Mr. Ike who played wrestling women's quarterfinals for four consecutive victories, who has not yet declared retirement, is shaking by continuing or retiring.

For two people who have led the Japanese sports world for many years, they tell stories about what trainers are and what they are asking questions based on their own experiences.

Q. What was the most difficult thing to keep doing a long game life?

Yi Yi
What I had the hardest job is still injury. I can not practice after injury. And I will feel moody as well. "I wonder if I will be late from competitors?" It's also an environment where a vicious circle is easy to born, so injuries are the most scary. It was a point I was most careful about whether injury should not be the number one.

Q. What is the longest injury?

Yi Yi
The most injured injury was the neck hernia. While practicing I tie my hair, I even hurt raising my hands and I could not tie my hair. Also, wrestling pretty much hits the head, but even its action hurts, and the situation continued not to do exercise at all for about three months.

Q. Did you gradually return? Is it okay now?

Yi Yi
Yes. Just as I was absent, I started off by shaking my body around the shoulder and the whole.

Q. In the case of Kitajima?
Thumb kitajimaNorth IslandI did not think much about my ability to go through the competition. Because I think that there is no one player who can keep motivation or a player who can keep it for 10 years. There are times when there are injuries or sometimes I can not make out what I thought.

I thought about what I truly wanted to do at that time, I think that I could swim in a high place because I kept having a strong feeling. It was a motivation to properly set the next goal.

I do not have such a big injury like Ikei, but I was injured, I did not go to practice because my feelings did not increase, and that was really on a daily basis. When I thought that I always wanted to be at a high level, how to raise my mind towards the game was rather important.

Q. Is it a game that one match is a game one day a day?

North Island
Yes, That's right. Of course there were also bad matches. I challenged with some theme. Because I think that this game is good, bad is almost sensibly understood.

Q. Do you know (the result) by sensation?

North Island
Yes, it is a practice process. For us (swimmer), recording is accompanied rather than a game. If records and criteria are matched before the race by making standards based on records to some extent, the sense of the head and the body matches greatly and I think that it is "good condition". Even though I thought it was "very good condition, good condition", the actual record was sometimes bad.

Q. Is Mr. Ito?

Yi Yi
Because I do not want to go to the game in a condition that I can not bring it to a satisfactory level. When the game is decided, I am adjusting and preparing so that I can go up to Matt with confidence ... I am planning that (laugh).

Q. When did not go well with the game?

Yi Yi
I won, I was stuck with the contents rather than losing, so I thought about trying with the lack of exercise yet I could not do at the time of contents, but because I did not have the courage and sometimes I could not try it, Was it a shortage? "Or" I will try practicing again from the beginning again ". So I think that it is also a game to rebuild the plan from scratch.

Q. Has injury triggered the two of you to look back on yourself?

North Island
If I get hurt, I should not rest practice (laugh). It is the trainer 's role here that motivation is raised (laugh). "I'm getting better if I do it like this," learned the trainer from the rehabilitation and training method, and knowing the process of properly healing within that will also be a great confidence for the players.

"Because there is such a pain, you should do it like this". Of course prevention is also important, but I think that it was good to hurt in the sense that I was able to acquire this knowledge as being in need of such training when injured.

I think that being able to think about what kind of training and treatment should be done by myself is one of the reasons why we have been able to keep players' lives for a long time.

Q. How was Mr. Ito when he was injured?

Thumb ichoYi YiI was already shocked when I heard "hernia" anymore ... was two or three years ago from the Rio Olympics. After all I liked the practice and wanted to do wrestling, so I could not do it and it fell down. First of all I have to get rid of it.

It is a difficult injury, so that I can consult with the trainer and the doctor as well, so that I can bring it to a better condition even a little, changing the wrestling style along with it is also a good name of injury, as well as an opportunity to widen the range of wrestling It was.

Q. Did you intentionally change your style to maintain high competitive skills?

North Island
Of course I think that change is important, I tried various things. The way of training and the contents of training. I was primarily underwater training though.
Hirai coach's training has changed the way of approach every year.

(As a question to Mr. Ike) Even though you were injured, did you want to train? It will win four consecutive times! (Lol).

Yi YiBecause I got injured, I got time to rest for wrestling, time to encourage training to train my body, time to care, time to talk with trainer increased, it became a good time to look back on my own It was.

In that sense, injuries are not all that is bad. When I got back to the competition, I became able to think "I was good with injury" through knowing how to use my body again.

Q. When did the two people conscious of the world? How did you decide to go to the world?

Yi Yi
When I entered high school I was practicing with college students. Because college seniors have already been active in world conventions already. It was a privileged environment that "there was a world there" already rather than "being conscious of the world". It was the reason I chose there that there are many seniors active in the world.

North Island
I thought "I want to go to the Olympics" when I am in elementary school. I thought that I could compete in the world by 2000 when I was 17 years old at the Sydney Olympics. I think that there was a part of dubiousness even halfway to going to the Olympics until then, it was the very first stage of the Olympics that I realized for the first time that I could not compete in the world.

Q. How did you think that you can compete in the world? Did you judge the movement of other players?

North IslandWhat I guess, probably about 2000, I think that practice like going to win the world did not do that. I am satisfied with just going to the Olympics. The result was good (with 4th place), so "If you go as it is, I can become the best in the world" (laugh). However, one more step to the medals was frustrating. If it was the third from the beginning I think that I did not have myself.

Yi YiI think that I was really blessed with the environment, and since my seniors had (good) results at the international convention, I also "If I can take two points even from one senior from this senior, I can communicate with the world Or, I thought seniors as a computer in a sense. If I could get more points from them, perhaps I would pass when I entered the world competition? I thought that it was a high school student.

Q. What advice can you make for a junior age aiming at trainers and the world?

North Island
it's difficult. I think that what the child feels, what he sees, what he / she is targeting becomes important. By learning tolerance, patience and patience, it is a heart that can not be broken, or it is a strength to endure even when my record is sluggish, I feel that I learned that strength when I was a junior.

The generation of children of junior now has various knowledge and information fluttering and it is easy to incorporate various things and there are many people who do not know what I should choose from among the amount of information different from that when I was a child I think there is. Of course, I think that it is different depending on the competition, but I think that it is important not only to practice efficiently but also to practice inefficiently sometimes to put stimulus.

Yi YiIt is difficult as I really mentioned. Every child or each person is different, and feeling also becomes different. In my case, since the support system is now fairly substantial, I can say more and more from myself "I want to do such things", "I want to do such a thing", but when I was a high school student I was in a practiced life I did not know at all what support it is.

After training in the morning, going to school, practicing in the afternoon, practicing in the afternoon, back at night and taking care of the seniors and going to bed as soon as I really had to repeat that kind of support every day, so what kind of support is there, I did not even have time to think about what I missed.

Q. Although it is still few in Japan, it is commonplace in the United States to engage multiple sports statistically. In the case of Mr. Ito, I belonged to the table tennis club.

North Island
Well, I am also a table tennis club (laugh).

Yi YiAre you serious? What? It is amazing.

North Island
Well, if you play table tennis you might win (laugh).

Yi Yi
I also went table tennis to the prefectural convention.

North Island
Seriously? What? (Lol). When I was a primary school student, I had to wear a polo shirt and I did not come back well (lol). What other club activities did Mr. Ito play?

Thumb dsc 3408

Yi YiI have been doing wrestling since about 3 years old, but because there was no wrestling department at school, I entered the table tennis club when I was elementary school student.

North Island
When is wrestling practice?

Yi Yi
Wrestling is only on weekends. Only Saturday and Sunday, we went to the city 's Budokan.

North Island
Is not it everyday?

Yi Yi
Yes, on weekdays I only have table tennis at school club activities (laugh). Elementary school students are on Saturdays and Sundays wrestling on weekday table tennis, junior high school also entering the judo department and wrestling only on weekends.

North Island
Judo section! What?

Yi Yi
It is the judo department. I went to the national convention (laugh).

North Island
Is not there a person who is hanging on here! Even though I did judo I think that it was very strong! Do not you think you want to do judo once in a while?

Yi Yi
I do not think ... it hurts (laugh). Because wrestling does not hurt.

North Island
That's a lie!

Yi Yi
It does not hurt, it does not hurt. Because judo can be thrown, does it hurt, are you forced? (Lol). There are people with wrestling styles like that, so I have to avoid it.
