――Please tell us your current feelings after the red and white battle and retirement ceremony.

Iwasaka:I'm very sorry that I couldn't show the fans the last time I played, but I'm very grateful to the team for giving me such an opportunity. (After the ceremony) I feel like I'm retiring. At the end of the Red and White War, I was deeply moved and filled with various feelings, but now I feel "I'm glad I ended up with this team."

――Are there any feelings of regret in your active life?

Iwasaka:I have no regrets. Rather than that, the joy and sense of accomplishment of being able to play a match with the current members by wearing a uniform at the end is stronger.

――Please tell us when you decided to retire and why.

Iwasaka:As I got older, I continued to play, thinking that "one year and one year is a game", but this season I finished the league and VCup without improving the condition.I was playing with the idea that "results are everything", so I decided to make a break this season.

――Please tell us the best memories of your active days and the games that left an impression on you.

Iwasaka:I have a lot of memories of the games I won and the games I lost. But what I remember most clearly is the match that entered the golden set (against Toray) in the final of the 2018-19 season.

The changing room after the losing match can be a dark atmosphere, but on this day, everyone had a “good face”. Although I lost the game, the team's consciousness that "I can fight until the golden set" has sprung up, and the result has come. In that sense, this match is very impressive.

――What kind of existence was volleyball and Hisamitsu Springs for Iwasaka?

Iwasaka:Volleyball started in the first grade of junior high school. It was really a part of my life, and thanks to the encounters with various people, I was able to join Hisamitsu Springs. After that, I have had a lot of experiences and I am now. I really appreciate Hisamitsu Springs. I am very grateful to all the people I have met through the valley.

--Hisamitsu Springs in the future,VWhat do you expect from the league and volleyball world?

Iwasaka:The crown that Hisamitsu was able to win is a thing of the past. I hope that the players and staff will work together to create a new Hisamitsu and produce results for the coming season.

――What kind of activities will you do in the future? How would you like to get involved with Hisamitsu?

Iwasaka:It is still undecided now, but I would like to think slowly about what I want to do in the future. It has been decided that the team will move to Saga.

It's not like Shinnabe (who retired last year at the same time), but I'm from Kyushu, so I'd like to get involved if I can help.

--For Iwasaka, Shinnabe of the same period
RisaWhat kind of existence did you have?

Iwasaka:
I knew it from junior high school, and I also played in high school. After that, I didn't expect to play in the same team, but for 11 years, the two of us helped each other, despite all sorts of things.

I had a fight, but I'm one of the people I can understand, and if I'm not good at it, I may have spent more time with my family than my family. I'm glad I was able to play together all the time in sync, and I feel "thank you". After retiring my feelings, I met him in person and told him about it. She told me that when she retired, so I thought I'd say it properly.

-I think there was a big part of your career that you met with Kumi Nakada, who is the director of the Japanese national team. What kind of existence was Kumi Nakada for Iwasaka?Do you have any impressions from the words you received from Director Nakata?

Iwasaka:He has changed the way he works on volleyball and his way of thinking, so in a nutshell, I think he is a "teacher." I think everything (in the words I got from the director) was meaningful and made me grow. It is difficult to narrow down to one.

――Members such as Yuki Ishii and Miyu Nagaoka, who are the same teammates of Hisamitsu and have played for the Japanese national team, will be welcoming the Olympics. Do you have any words you would like to call?

Iwasaka:I'm a member who has fought together for a really long time, so I feel lonely that I couldn't play together today, but I'm doing my best in a different place, so rather than giving a message or words, each one I want to support you.

--Did the postponement of the Tokyo Olympics and the removal of the representative members influence your decision to retire?

Iwasaka:I haven't affected that point, but when I couldn't practice with "Corona Sorrow" or the game was gone, the part "How to keep my motivation?" Was very difficult. But that doesn't affect me (that I decided to retire) because I think all the athletes thought so, not just me.

――Mr. Iwasaka himself has less chances to participate this season, and the team finished in 8th place. What you feel about it. Please tell us your thoughts on the members of the team in the future.

Iwasaka:I haven't had any results in these two seasons, and I feel sorry for the team. I couldn't do anything in that, but the things I've done so far are in the past, so I hope the members and staff of the next season will work together to grow every day, and I'm creating a "new Hisamitsu". I want you to.

――Finally, do you have a message for your fans?

Iwasaka: Thank you for your support over the 18 years since I started playing volleyball in junior high school. I think I've come this far thanks to the support of the fans, and I think there is a part where I was able to grow with the help of cheering.

Also,
We could only hold a few home games in Saga this season, but even in that situationMany people came to see the game and cheered us on, so we won some games.

In 2023, Springs will move to Saga and continue to work, so please continue to support Hisamitsu Springs.
