Futsal Japan representative, closely watching Keiji Kanji vol.3 - Interview Edition "Continue to contribute to the victory of the team, and there is a dream ahead"
As a center player of Fugador Sumida, as a captain, Mr. Kaji swordsmen who plays an important role inside and outside the pitch talked about their roles in their teams and Japanese delegates, even on futsal shoes and future goals.

――まず、昨シーズンを振り返っていかがでしたか？
Maiji：Last season, neither team nor individuals was never satisfied. Even the team and myself were able to get a good start right after the opening, but after the middle stage they stalled.
僕自身も、開幕当初は、他チームに新加入した外国人選手や日本代表のトップクラスの選手をしっかり抑えきることが出来たけど、彼らがチームにフィットしはじめ、コンディションを上げてきたときに、パワー負けしてしまった部分があったんですよね。まだまだ自分に足りないものがあることを実感しました。
――課題克服に向けて強化しているフィジカルのトレーニングは順調ですか？
Maiji：Yes, it is going well. But it is really hard (laugh). The other day, I sat on the train on the way back of training, but I can not stand at the station I have to get off. I still have generalized muscle pain. But it is because we are going to compete with the top class Pivos.
Since the original size is different, the power difference which can not be filled is a premise to cover with experiences, situation grasping / judgment, technology, etc., but I also want to raise the physical aspect to my limit.
As we increase the amount of muscle, you may be perplexed at first adjusting the feeling of the body and play, but I want to make that blur width small.
I try to consciously match my senses with my usual team practice. I have only just started.

- On what schedule will you strengthen your physicals in the future?
Maiji：11月にはAFCフットサル選手権の予選が予定されているので、9月までには目標としてイメージしているところまでもっていきたいです。まずは開幕までに、一回り身体を大きく出来るんじゃないかと思っています。
――昨年は代表にもコンスタントに呼ばれていました。所属チームと代表チームでは、それぞれどんなことを意識していますか？
Maiji：The role is completely different. I am good at 1: 1, and although I will take tactics to try to make use of my 1: 1 in the team, there are other 1: 1 specialists in Japan.
I think that I can also make contributions on the offense side such as assembling from the back, carrying the ball, making time, but since there are plenty of offense talents, I think the pressing and defense I also want to contribute by expressing my characteristics on the surface as well.
あとは、代表に呼ばれ続けていくことができれば、コミュニケーション面だったり、チーム作りの面でも貢献できることがあると思っています。
――逆に所属チームと代表チームで共通していることってありますか？
Maiji：The national team carries the country, so the results are all right. It is not different from what I do on the team, that it is not for my ego but for a team and for the country to contribute by doing what I can and what I am doing, the national team I guess it is.
So, in order to be chosen as a representative and to survive, I think that you first have to take on the role of winning your team. I am thinking that there is no qualification to be selected as a representative though there is no power to win the team.
チームの勝利のためにピッチ内外でできることを行っていくことが、結局は代表にも繋がっていくんだと思います。
――チームでキャプテンとして振る舞っていること自体が諸江選手の強みになりますよね。では、そのチームのキャプテンとして、普段どんなことを意識していますか？
Maiji：Especially I do not have an ideal captain image, and since everyone has a wonderful human nature, it is very easy to avoid having to worry about extra things.
I have been working with Director Suga for a long time, so I'm trying to tell you what my director thinks firmly.

――では、そろそろシューズの話をきかせてください。ずっとプーマのシューズを履いていると思いますが、フットサルシューズへのこだわりはありますか？
Maiji：特に強いこだわりはないんですけど、ソールが薄いものが好きですね。素足感覚というか、足裏の感触を大切にしたいんです。ピッチの感覚が足裏にダイレクトに伝わるようにするために、インソールははずして履いてますね。
- The shoes you are wearing are not top models, right?
Maiji：はい、僕は足のサイズが24.5cmと小さいんですが、プーマのトップモデルが25cmからになってしまったんです。いま履いているシューズは、「インビクト サラ」というモデルです。
I have a wide feet, so at first I have a little horizontal width, but as I am using it, artificial leather is familiar and it gets better just right. It fits in the shape of my foot so it's easy to wear.
It is not as good as the top model, but it is light and the sole is also relatively thin, so I am satisfied with that point.
There are things I think that it would be better to work a bit more grip, but since I started futsal, I have been wearing puma's shoes for a long time, so it's like "sticking to Puma's shoes".

- I hope you can develop a special shoes for PUMA (laugh). Finally, please give me your future goals.
Maiji：I think that continuation is most important. Thanks to a lot of people, I have been seriously able to face futsal in this way. Continuously continued, I finally came to the place where I could invite them to Japan national team.

いままでコツコツと積み上げてきたものがあるという想いが彼を支えているのだろう。自分の課題と向き合い、継続して高みを目指していくことによって、夢を現実に変えていこうとしている。チームのために出来ることを、高いレベルで継続してきた諸江だからこそ、見えている未来があるのかもしれない。
