The Square Mile Relay is a corporate-based running event that was first held in London in 2007 and is now being held in 12 cities around the world as a "Global Series" race. This was the third time the event was held in Japan for the third consecutive year, and this time around 700 runners from 70 teams ran through Marunouchi Naka-dori at night.

This year, the teams that have participated in the past maintained a high repeat rate of more than 70%, and the first participating companies also joined.
