Dream that DMM plays on European football "vol.5 What is the reaction of the local people when the Japanese team operates?"

In November of last year DMM acquired the management rights of Shintotroiden of Belgian first division league. Why did you buy a Belgian team? I asked Mr. Yusuke Muranaka, who is the chairman of SYNTOTROIDEN, who is the director of DMM.com. In the final talk Vol.5, I asked about the future attendance mobilization measures, the local staff and their involvement with residents.

Vol.4 from here

- Is there a possibility that the director of Sintotroiden will become a Japanese supervisor?

In the villageJapanese directors can't do it because they don't have a license. You can't do it unless you have a European license. I think I can be an assistant coach, but even the procedure is different. But I would like to be able to help in this area.。

―― Can you supervise youth, junior youth, and training divisions?

In the villageYou can supervise the upbringing. However, I think it is very difficult to be a director in an away environment and in a country where the language is different.

―― What do you think about the number of participants in the team?

In the villageThe current average number of visitors is around 6,000 to 7,000 people, so I want to increase it a little more.

- Does the team with an increasing number of visitors have good reasons for using SNS or why?

In the villageWe are also doing SNS etc. I get comments like, "I'll go when the team gets stronger" or "I'll go when the tickets are a little cheaper." But it's already pretty cheap lol

What do you want to do even cheaper than this? I would like to imitate measures that went well in Japan, and do more event-like things.

The feeling of going to a Belgian football match is different from that of a Japanese person. Sports are not commonplace in the city, so there is no choice of "Let's go to baseball, basketball, or soccer." Because there is only soccer. I thought it would be useless to brand it.

In the J-League, "Let's go see the soccer first, Let's invite the next person", but there is already some end there. But, I do not find many children. Kickoff is 20 o'clock or so late, so it is hard for children to come.

I have to think about such a point in a different direction, or go out for something other than football. If you go over there, you get a toy, Fima is doing. For example, Kawasaki Frontale etc. have been devised variously. I hope to learn and practice the wonderful management aspects of Japan.

―― Are you thinking about refurbishing the stadium for that purpose?

In the villageThe rights to the stadium itself belong to the previous owner. He said, 'I'll reinforce the stadium,' so of course I'll match it. The seats on which the players sit are not Europa League specs on one side. There is no backrest, and we have to repair it, such as having to have it.

I am planning to renovate all of the away stands, I would like people to put in a little more and I would like to make a day care center under the stadium and make it a comprehensive facility. I think that we have to make places where people usually gather.

―― I think you are working on various things, but how do you work with local people?

In the villageI'm doing it in a Japanese style, not a dictatorship style. It used to be a dictatorial type. I can't say one is better than the other because there are good points. Once we had clarified what we were going to do and asked them to “do this,” we had the human resources who could steadily carry it out.

Now, I give responsibility to those people and ask them, "What do you think about yourself? How do you want to do it?" It's getting better.

I think that it will become stronger as people who originally stayed there will do so. Everyone was excellent as I was doing it with a small number of people. In addition, I think that it is a bit of a matter of how much responsibility is given.

- How do local residents think that Japanese are running a team?

In the villageThere was one episode that made me sad. We have a business club. They are supporters of youth NPOs, and in other words, a gathering of local celebrities. I attended that dinner party. It seems that the previous owner never participated.

I went there for the first time after being invited. I was told, "You came first, didn't you?" Lastly, when I said hello, a drunken person asked me, "Why did you buy this team?"

When I said, "I want to make this town better, stronger, and contribute," everyone said, "It's gold!"

I answered, "No, it's not," but he asked me the same question two or three times. One person said, "Well, it's not enough," and it ended, but I was sad. I thought if I bought it for the money, I would buy another team (laughs).

I wonder why people think I bought it for money. I thought that our thoughts had not penetrated yet. It's certainly the stage where a Japanese person who doesn't know who came for what.

Whether you want to heat up with soccer, you get a lot of gossip. Every time I do that, I get messages from fans on my personal Facebook. We have received applications from about 300 local people.

――It takes time to gain the trust of the local people.

In the villageWe will do what we can little by little and move forward to convey our thoughts.
