2016年クラブワールドカップで日本勢として初めて決勝の舞台に上がり、世界トップレベルの選手達を要するレアル・マドリードに惜しくも延長戦で敗戦した鹿島アントラーズ。そのピッチ上で、『西大伍』選手は最後まで戦っていた。今回は、その試合を振り返り、西選手が影響を受ける選手等についても、話していただいた。

West: I am always saying(Lol)。
――どのような反応がありますか。
West: I think that I can do the previous position, but sideback is an important position, I do sideback because I want you to become the starting point of attack, such as when building up.
――サイドバックは疲れるポジションですか。
West: It's up to you.
――左右のサイドバックでは、どちらがやりやすいですか。
West: I do both, and neither is the same.
――プレーしていて、どのような時が楽しいですか。
West: It is time to think or aim well with the surrounding players, both in attack and defense. Ultimately, if you10I think that it would be nice to have a person.(Lol)。
――西さんが10人いたらどのようなチームになりますかね

――海外サッカーを見始めたのはいつ頃からですか。
West: It is from high school. I did not have longing for someone when I was in elementary school.ACI like Milan's Kaka, even now the same number as Kaka22I am attaching a number. At that time Milan was Shevchenko, Gilardino, Gattuso, Pirlo, Seedorf.
――今も見ていますか。

――アントラーズの選手達は海外サッカーを見ていますか。
West: Young players seem to be looking.
――今、西さんが影響を受ける選手はいますか。

――海外に行ってプレーするのは、いつ頃から意識していますか。
West: Always it is. I always want to go. Timely is not right. As we have been growing so far, I am confident that even if I go abroad.
――鹿島はなぜ強いのですか。タイトル数を見ても圧倒的ですよね。
West: Strong compared to other, about as much. To Antlers7I do not know about other teams as I have a year, but Kashima thinks the seriousness of the game is quite strong.
――昨年のクラブワールドカップでレアルと対戦する前日に夜は、どうでしたか。
West: It did not change as usual.
――鹿島は勝てそうでしたよね。対戦してみてどうでしたか。
West: Everyone was good. I often had a matchup with Ronaldo and Marcelo, but I wonder if there was any difference than the result.
――どう上手かったですか。
West: As a team as well as an individual, all the basic technologies were all right.
――勝てると思いましたか。
West: I was more fun to play than win or lose. The other side would have become serious to some extent, and Marcelo has scooped me down.
