――I think you used to play rugby while working before you became a professional, but please tell us about that time. How many years have you been working since joining Suntory?
Aoki: I worked at the Yokohama branch for 3 years!
――What kind of work did you do? Please tell me the flow of the day.
Aoki: Don't you eat breakfast and leave the dormitory? There is Nakanoshima on the Nambu line next to Noborito, but there was a dormitory there. From there, we all drive to the Yokohama branch.
After getting to the branch for the first time to work around the PC, at around 9 o'clock morning budget so leave the branch around 9:30 and go around the supermarket in charge.
Because there is no shop without suntory sake, I definitely went and had to communicate with the supermarket such as having the product placed in a conspicuous place during the campaign.
――Communication is as important as rugby, isn't it?
Aoki:I agree. But I was not able to ask you if I get too good.partWhoAnd he is getting along well, but there is an image that I could not do it well.
――How many stores were you in charge of?
Aoki: I was in charge of only about 6 stores. There are very few 6 stores in a week.
――Well, you can only have one store a day.
Aoki: At that time, I was also a member of the Japan national team, so there was a time when I couldn't go for about half a year, so I was showing up when I could. It is a form of going around from about 9:30 and practicing in the afternoon.
――Do you sometimes work after practice?
Aoki: I didn't have the basics. But there are some players who haven't been to the supermarket. People who go to izakaya for business use are mainly at night, so some people went to the site after the practice.
--That's too bad. There is a room where a personal computer is connected inside the clubhouse. There are people who work here and return home.
Aoki:Yes. I used to not be able to work here. For security reasons, I couldn't open my company computer.
But now that I can use it, I have an environment where I can work without returning to the office, so it's convenient. But on the contrary, I had to work (laughs)
――I heard that some players are in charge of as many customers as other employees.
Aoki: There are none.
――That's amazing! The supermarket employees I worked with also come to see the game, and the customers also support me.
Aoki: Thankfully that's right. Many Suntory employees come to support us. Isn't that the basics? However, I would be happy if customers would come in that way.
――Of course, you sell Suntory products, but I hope you become a fan of yourself.
AokiWell, I became good friends, even though my business performance was not good, I thought that the relationship between people and people is important.
――I think you were going to college to get a teaching profession. Have you been careful or devised while wearing two pairs of waraji?
Aoki: In my first year as a professional, I attended Nihon University. Nihon University was close to the practice area, but at that time I had to work hard on rugby, and I also had to work hard at school, so I packed up a lot of classes.
When I packed it up, it resonated with my practice. It was a class of the Faculty of Physical Education, but I also put two classes on land like the second and fourth classes on Monday. It was practice from there, so it was pretty tough when I practiced after running 10km on land.
--Did you go to get a PE teacher's license?
Aoki: Yes, I went to get a health and physical education license.
――It's hard, use your body in physical education and use your body in practice. Which is harder, when you are practicing while working or when you are practicing while going to college?
Aoki: It's hard, but it was more fun while attending school. In the past, I used to go to school with the feeling that I had to take credits to play rugby, or I had to take credits to graduate.
When I go to school because I want to become a member of society and learn, it's fun and fulfilling to have great lessons. After all, I think it's really fun to work on each one with interest.
I think it would have been more fun if I had been studying like that when I was in high school. When I often watched "How are the University of Tokyo students studying?" On TV, I said that I wouldn't study for the test because I remembered it during class, but I thought that was exactly the case.
When studying while thinking that it is fun, you can enter more and more and remember it. That's why it's not easy to do with tests, but it's nothing short of being done in the lesson, so I could do it by listening.
