The wave emperor series debut in December 2015, the current model is the third generation. The concept is to run fast, the target is a full marathon and runners and part clubs aiming for the first half hour time are available for practicing when speeding up.

- Could you tell me from the history of naming Emperor first?
Nakamura: Although it is our opinion, I believe that the shoes that run fast are those that scraped off various parts. For example, while considering the function of protecting the body such as cushioning property, stability and so on to a certain extent, pursuing only the function capable of running speed and thinking "Let's make shoes beyond the royal road", the emperor I thought, I decided to name "Emperor".
- What kind of functionality do you have?
Nakamura: By putting a wave type resin called Mizuno wave on the sole part of the heel, it was stable even if it was difficult to shift sideways and got speed, and it has a solid cushion function and it is excellent.
Outsole is also a point, unlike general running shoes, using a special resin called G3 which is very hard makes grips more effective. And it is also a feature that the sole's forefoot is divided into three parts. Humans get their feet from outside when they run, collect the power inside and kick in front, but the faster the speed, the less he will arrive.
The outside which is subject to the most pressure at the time of grounding is designed so that each block is enlarged to make it easier to catch up, and the durability is high. Since the part of the inner shell that wears away will also be different, we arrange designs with different heights so that we can keep wearing long enough to keep grip and durability even if it rubs off.
The tip that kicks out at the end is just pulling out while running, so we are pursuing lightness by lowering the density to grab the ground rather than durability and advance forward.
- How about fitting?
Nakamura: What I stuck most this time was aiming for fitness, shoes to match the feet. The shape of the foot of the Japanese is wide, flat feet, narrow, thick, Takashi Takashi etc. There are also women suffering from hallux valgus. Because some people do not enter the power when running without fitting when wearing shoes, I tried to make it a shoe that can fit any foot.
The forefront part through which the shoelace passes is adjusted more than the conventional running shoes by one more front so that the width of the forefoot part can be adjusted so that it can fit more.
また、踵の幅が調整ができるようにしています。ミズノが1番大切に考えている踵には、足にフィットするようにヒールカウンターと言う硬いものを入れています。黒色の人工皮革のベルトが外側と内側からシューレースまで伸びて連動していまして、ヒールカウンターから前にグッと締めることで足幅に関わらずフィットするので、走っている時に踵がズレにくい構造となっていますね。
- How long did it take to complete it?
Nakamura: It will be about two years until commercialization. How do you repeat the test many times over and over again as to whether you will not hurt when you are running while firmly holding your heel.
- How will you develop it in the future?
